Unless you have been living under a rock, you most likely have heard of CBD and hemp by now. It seems to be everywhere. So you might be asking yourself; how can I capitalize on this hot trend? You are looking at selling Kannaway products and want to know if Kannaway is a scam or not.
I am not going to spend a ton of time on this opportunity since I have strong feelings based on my previous experience in another market.
But rather I will quickly touch on the highlights of this program and based on my experience with a different program (which was ahead of the trend at the time) will give you my thoughts.
My review will be broken down into the following areas:
- What is the Kannaway Opportunity
- How the Kannaway program works – a basic overview
- Is selling Kannaway products through their program a scam or legit?
- A Time Tested Method That Will Bring In The Cash
Kannaway LLC What Is It Exactly?
Kannaway is a hemp-based botanical multi level marketing company. They were the first publicly traded cannabis company in the United States in 2009.
Since 2009 they have gone on to establish themselves the “first” in many different arenas within the cannabis industry.
- First global CBD pipeline
- First to deliver CBD Cannabis brands across state lines and international borders
- First CBD chewing gum
- First to develop strict quality standards for cannabis products
- First to deliver prescription CBD products to many different disease sufferers
- First to address the UN and WHO about CBD
- Many other “firsts” can be seen on their timeline posted on their website
Kannaway Is An MLM Company
As mentioned before the Kannaway opportunity is a Multi Level Marketing company. If you don’t know what that is you MUST educate yourself before joining this or any other MLM company.
MLMs mostly are companies that offer products for sale however to become part of the program there are requirements and parameters that must be attained and maintained.
Multilevel marketing as a business is perfectly legal if done properly and as far as I can tell selling Kannaway products through their program appears on the up and up.
That said you will want to read every little detail about the program that you can get your hands on.
The Kannaway Compensation Plan, 40 Fun Filled Pages
The Kannaway comp plan is detailed in a 40 page pdf available for download from their website.
The pdf goes into excruciating detail of how to hit the different ranks/level within the organization and how to keep or maintain your status once you achieve a specific level.
There are soooo many levels that you can achieve:
- Brand Ambassador
- Senior Director
- Executive Director
- Area Director
- Regional Director
- Regional Director Elite
- National Director
- National Director Elite
- International Director
- International Director Elite
- Vice Presidential Director
- Vice Presidential Director Elite
- Presidential Ambassador
- Presidential Ambassador Elite
- Crown Ambassador
- Crown Ambassador Elite
- Double Crown Ambassador Elite
The comp plan pdf is filled with quippy Kannaway terms and plenty of diagrams and graphs that show just how “easy” it is to fulfill your income dreams by building a sales team to sell Kannaway products.
I have to be honest with you. I did not read the entire Kannaway compensation plan. I just couldn’t. My eyes glazed over at around page 20. I have seen so many of these plans. They each call the different levels of achievements different cutesy names.
Each of these plans all have a similar structure. You buy into the program by purchasing product which you can sell at a profit.
You have to become and stay “qualified” by hitting defined personal sales goals each month in order to earn commissions on anyone that you bring into the program under you.
You also have group sales numbers to hit for bonuses or commissions etc. and on and on……
Anyway when I look into any mlm it is easy to see why people join. If you are able to make it through reading about the comp plan (and can understand it) you will see just how much money there is to be made if you are able to grow a sales team.
Is Kannaway A Scam Or Legit?
I have no doubt that Kannaway has quality products.
As with any MLM company and their opportunity, I have reservations. Like I mentioned in previous posts on mlms. I have been members of 3 different opportunities and have made some money with only one!
If you are extremely driven and think that you can recruit, train, and establish a large quality sales team then by all means join an mlm program.
What I have found though is that it is extremely easy to get all excited about the opportunity but not as easy to make money with it once you are involved. Don’t get me wrong there are lots of people that are successful and some are extremely successful but that is a small percentage of the people involved in these programs.
My Reservations Regarding Kannaway and Kannaway Products
My concerns with the Kannaway products and this particular program stem from my experience with a different mlm many, many, years ago.
A long, long, time ago back in the days when people used to wear pagers and cell phones weren’t a thing yet. There was an mlm company called STS (at least that is what I think it was called) Strategic Telecom Systems?
Anyway, STS had a program that you could join to sell prepaid long distance telephone calling cards. Oh boy, does anyone even remember these? They were like a credit card that had prepaid long distance calling minutes on them.
You could dial a number on your home phone or a pay phone (yup these were also a thing we used to have back in the day) enter a code and make a long distance call at a discounted rate per minute (for those who don’t know.
Since these prepaid calling cards were a new thing and not available anywhere else it was a booming market, in the beginning.
Then big retailers caught on and decided that they too could make a buck with these cards. All of the sudden all of the retail business through STS dried up.
Why would anyone buy a prepaid phone card through STS when they could just pick one up at a better price at their checkout lane at the grocery store among other places?
The long meandering point that I am trying to make is: once CBD and hemp products are commonplace I think that the demand for the Kannaway products will slow if not dry up altogether (just my opinion).
Heck I am starting to see CBD products all over the place where I live. They even sell CBD oil at the Family Video store down the street.
I Have To Think There Is A Simpler Less Risky Way
Since you are looking into selling Kannaway products I already know that you are, at the very least looking to supplement your current income, if not hoping to replace what you are doing for money at the current time.
There has to be a simpler way. If you think getting involved in a direct marketing MLM is easy and not complicated just look at the 40 page compensation plan for Kannaway again.
The simpler way that I really love is called affiliate marketing.
There is free affiliate marketing training available that I wrote about in a previous post. This particular training is free to join and continue with for as long as you like without providing any payment information.
With the free membership obviously you will not have access to everything you would have access to with a paid membership (I still belong to this membership to this day). What I recommend doing is:
Sign up for the free program and go through the lessons offered there. If you see the value and it makes sense to you then and only then upgrade. If you don’t think it is for you, then simply don’t upgrade. It doesn’t hurt to check things out.
